So hey, how was your weekend? Mine was good--pretty laid back. The highlight was that hubs and I were able to get in a "date day". Yes, day. I actually really enjoy day time drinking fun. I'm not the late night-er that I use to be, and much prefer hitting the mean ATL streets in the early evening so that I'm back home snuggled up and ready to watch my tv shows by nightfall.
Me and the hubs had a nice early dinner at one of my favorite spots in Atlanta, Cafe Intermezzo. There are a couple in the city, but the location I usually patron had recently moved it's location from Buckhead down to Midtown. I was a bit nervous about that because Intermezzo is what I imagine a quaint little Italian cafe would be, and I was afraid the new location in a brand new building wouldn't carry that vibe as well as the old location did. Boy was I wrong. It felt exactly the same. I'm totally in love with the new covered outdoor seating.
If you're ever in Atlanta, you should check it out. It's a great spot for people watching!

P.S. This post is party of Monday Mingle & Funday Monday.
You make living look wonderful! You actually look like you never have a bad day from your posts but I know that isn't true. That smile in your last photo seems permanent. I believe you said you're a Cancer and I know a few and you'll tend to have mean streaks when pushed. Would like to see how you overcome your shortcomings. It is life and it does make me feel better in knowing that someone as pretty as you too has difficulties and how you maintain yourself in those times. Is it a good read, meditation, reconnection with all things good and fun? Just wondering.
ReplyDeleteThank you! And thanks for this comment, because it does bring up some things that I probably should address. First, I'm human, I'm a normal, regular person--so of course, I have bad days. Of course I have moments of sadness, unhappiness, etc. for whatever reason. I'm alive. lol No, you haven't seen any posts related to that, because that's not what this blog about. This is my blog that I use as my own outlet in ways that I see fit. I am happy people enjoy it, as well as surprised and flattered that actually care about the things that I wear, cook, do, etc. But make no mistake, I don't feel that it is anyone's "right" to have access to or to see EVERY aspect of my life. If you know a thing about Cancers, then you also probably know that we tend to be in our "shells" a lot of the time, and when we're out--we're OUT. I always refer to myself as an extroverted introvert. So no, it's not in my nature to be just a total open book. Also, anyone who knows me in real life can also attest to the fact that I am 98% of the time an upbeat person--so that's what you're getting here. I think most people realize, as one of my friends has put it, that social media is everyone's "highlight reel". People tend to share the good. That's also why I follow the blogs that I follow as well, I like to see the good, the happy, etc. It inspires me to continually look for the joy in even the smallest moments because I have a lot to be happy about. I also have a lot of respect for people who DO share all aspects, even if that includes the darker sides to life, especially when there are lessons that can be learned from it.
ReplyDeleteBut to be quite frank, you won't really get that here. This is all about the "Life", i.e. sharing stuff about my kids, my happenings, married life, etc. and my "Style"--which I think is self explanatory.
I'm sorry if you may feel like you aren't getting as much insight as you might like, but I have had a few negative experiences "socializing" online, so I tend to be a bit less reckless these days--or maybe it has just come with age. lol
Thanks for reading.
Loved your response
DeleteGotcha. Point taken. No insight needed. It is just my own need that I love finding the humanness in all things good, beautiful and of good report. So for me, though difficulties are inevitable, I tend to like seeing what and how people overcome those times because it does help me and what I believe is the human experience identify with the holistic aspect of life. But I also completely get not wanting to share that part of you. Everyone has their own call and I respect yours. Love your blog nonetheless and will remain a fan of your life and style.
DeleteThanks for the clarification, and I'm really glad that you still will continue reading. xoxo
DeleteI love Cafe Intermezzo! Such a romantic place and yet, I only go there with my girlfriends :-/ *sigh* Lol. I saw the new location but, have not gone there as yet.
ReplyDeleteDon't feel bad, before getting hitched--I went there with my girls mostly too. It's a good spot for a Sex-And-The-City-kind-of-night too! ;)
